Have you adopted or rescued a dog that is new to training, a rambunctious adolescent or could use a refresher course in basic manners? Then this class is especially for you! With years of shelter and rescue experience, let the trainers at Pawsitive Tails help your new dog transition into his/her forever home with relative ease.
Just the Basics for Rescued and Adopted Dogs is an introductory training class that includes a first-week orientation for humans only. Do not bring your dog, but do bring your questions about your dog! We'll discuss setting your dog up for success with good pet parenting, mental enrichment, exercise and management strategies.
During the next four weeks, your dog will receive basic obedience training in sit, down, stay, loose leash walking, leave it and coming when called. Behavior issues common to shelter and rescue dogs, such as jumping up, counter surfing and housetraining, will also be discussed.
Class size is limited to 5 dogs for individualized attention and instruction.
